In Vietnamese culture, Jade is thought of as a protective piece; one that brings good fortune and keep negative energy at bay. I grew up seeing the women in my family wear a permanent jade bracelet, not necessarily for good luck, but as a symbol of where they come from. My wedding night was made even more special when my Husband removed my seven gold bangles and replaced them with one single jade bangle. As I thought more about Jade, I kept finding myself with an urge to paint the essence of it. After some trial and error, I realized that this could not be accomplished with one layer on canvas. It needed to be eight individual layers, painted and resined, to give the result of the depth and intricacy of true jade. These can be hung, placed, or leaned.I am so proud of these and I am thankful (and excited) that it will be in your home.
